About

The 'Football French Club' scheme can be adapted to suit the needs of most schools. Whether you are interested in using FFC during curriculum time or as an after-school provision, the activities and games are all related to the MFL Framework developed by the government. The sessions can be adapted to suit different times from 45 mins to an hour and a half. This can also include a physical football session delivered by an FA qualified coach and also using the MFL language.

The scheme initially lasts for 6 sessions and will cover the following areas:

Greetings / Numbers / Colours / Months / Food / Likes

Remember! All of these sessions are based on a football theme and alongside the language learning, the aim of FFC is to develop self-esteem, enthusiasm and healthy living. For example, the 'Food' session focuses on the importance of diet for a professional footballer and promotes the 5-a-day message.

Further outlines of the sessions are detailed in the games section of this site. If you would like to discuss how your school could benefit from FFC or i f you are interested in using Football FC in your school's MFL development then please contact us.

Football French Club is an idea developed by Kevin Payne, a primary-trained teacher who holds an MFL certificate from Cilt, has been Head of MFL in two schools and who has undergone extensive training as part of the national 'Pathfinder Project'. He also holds an FA coaching certificate and has developed the resources for Football French Club. To find out more, click here.
